Raised in the coast mountains of British Columbia, Shane Carmichael has been living amongst colossal mountains his whole life.  Since realizing the power and tranquility of these mountains at a very young age, Shane has made it his life long passion to experience BIG mountains, and share these experiences with the world through video and photography.  His passion for mountain culture has taken him around the world (Alaska, Iceland, France, Switzerland) and been showcased in magazines and videos (SBC SKIER magazine, Ski Canada, Rage Films).

Aside from being fueled by snow throughout the winter, the power of music drives Shane through life. Playing heavy metal music is a constant release of energy, similar to skiing big peaks. Shane's band, Hoopsnake, has just recorded their first demo and will be releasing it soon.  A huge accomplishment seeing as one year ago Shane's wrist was shattered and is now made of metal.
